Why I'm standing

I want an Aotearoa leading in tackling the world climate emergency now. The hugely damaging flooding in the North Island shows we must take urgent action as a country to reduce our carbon emissions, and protect our planet. We must also take urgent steps to address our huge problems of poverty, inequality and social injustice. We are a wealthy country, all we need politically is the will to share our wealth more fairly.

About me

As I am not on the party list, I am not running to be elected personally to parliament, but am representing the Green Party to urge voters to party vote Green. I have lived in the Kaikōura Electorate since 1986, working as a rural GP, and feel very strongly that the Greens offer this community the bold and rational policies to tackle the crises and challenges we face.

My priorities
  1. Eliminate the financial barriers to accessing primary medical and dental care.
  2. Tackle poverty by reforming Working for Families and establishing a fair tax system.
  3. Funding and promoting public transport options for rural communities.
