Why I'm standing
I cannot sit back and watch this once amazing little country get ripped apart by a radical cultural minority who demand separatism and self-determination. It flies in the face of democracy, ignores the original version of the Treaty and will only lead to apartheid.
About me
I am a beef farmer and businessman, operating my own importing operation. Having taught teenage students agriculture, I know what makes young adults tick and where their fears lie. Having survived cancer, I don't fear anyone nor shy away from what has to be said or done. I bring a practical, conservative approach to the political arena, and seek to clear the barriers of doing business, particularly farming, to enable them to once again flourish.
My priorities
- Build a new Ashburton Bridge and make the Canterbury plains more resilient to flooding.
- Remove any regulations too difficult to comply with, eg National Policy Statement on Freshwater.
- Give landowners and associated businesses immunity from future Māori claims.
