Tāmaki Makaurau electorate

Tāmaki Makaurau is a Māori electorate currently held by Labour's Peeni Henare, who won by a narrow margin of 956 – one of the smallest margins in the country. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Tāmaki Makaurau – 60% to Te Pāti Māori's 13%. The electorate was first represented by John Tamihere after it was formed in 2002 from the Northern part of the Hauraki electorate. Pita Sharples held the seat from 2005 to 2014.
