Tauranga electorate

Tauranga is currently held by National's Sam Uffindell, who won comfortably with a margin of 6,354 in a 2022 by-election following the resignation of Simon Bridges. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Tauranga – 42% to National's 32%. Tauranga has been held by Natonal since 1938 with one exception: Winston Peters won the seat for National in 1984, but held the seat for NZ First from 1993 until 2005.

As a husband and father, with roots in Matakana Island, my passion is to empower families to succeed and flourish. For years I have been supporting the men and young people of Tauranga thrive through various initiatives such as Man Up and youth mentoring programs.

My priorities
  1. Bring values and morals back into all spheres of NZ society.
  2. Support and empower the families, young people and communities of Tauranga to thrive and prosper.
  3. Invest in our next generation through quality education and training programs.
