Why I'm standing

The people of the mighty East Coast are my whānau, they're my friends, and they're hard working people who have suffered from severe and detrimental weather events. That's why I'm running, for the people. I decided not to exit this political arena because the East Coast deserves a proven advocate with the energy and experience to build back and bring aspiration to Tairāwhiti.

About me

I've been an MP for the last six years, and large parts of the Waiariki electorate where I've been based cross over with areas of the East Coast. I know this community, I listen to the issues they're facing, and I work hard to ensure that coasties can live their best lives possible. I believe in the power of community, and that's how I aim to continue my mahi.

My priorities
  1. Build back better from Cyclone Gabrielle.
  2. Advocate for those across the primary industries sector.
  3. Support community and regional development to improve the lives and environment of the region.
