Northland electorate

Northland is currently held by Labour's Willow-Jean Prime, who won by a narrow margin of 163 – one of the smallest margins in the country. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Northland – 44% to National's 27%. Since the seat was established in 1996, it has been mainly held by National MPs, except for 2015 to 2017 when Winston Peters won the seat at a by-election, and 2020 when Labour won.

Why I'm standing

I have been an advocate for communities for over 20 years. Being an MP is a progression of my advocacy. I am running because I want to advocate strongly for those who cannot advocate for themselves. We are in a crisis of inequality and of climate and I have to do all that I can to bring about change in my lifetime.

About me

I am values-led and having inherent values which define my actions is imperative to leading what is needed for policy changes that enhance the well-being of communities in Northland and across Aotearoa. In addition I bring my qualifications in Arts and Law, I bring my significant policy experience and most importantly, my passion for communities.

My priorities
  1. Ensure clean water to drink, to gather kai and for recreation. Clean water is vital for Northland and Aotearoa.
  2. Ban mining on conservation estate to avoid corporate exploitation of our precious taonga.
  3. Work towards a fairer tax system which will ensure everyone contributes fairly especially the wealthy.
