In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Rotorua – 46% to National's 28%. With the exception of the three terms of the fifth Labour government, the seat has been held by a National MP since 1960.

Why I'm standing

Rotorua is an amazing place but we can be better. I want to help our communities, iwi and people to thrive. I will be a strong advocate in parliament making sure that Rotorua gets the housing, health care, education and economic support it needs to be the best place in New Zealand. By getting the basics right we can also deal with the inequalities and social issues that have existed in Rotorua for too long.

About me

I was born and raised in Rotorua and I work as a lawyer, uniquely aware of the issues affecting our region. I'm determined, hard working and passionate about getting good results for Rotorua and everyone that lives here. I'm a three time Olympian with vast governance experience both internationally and in New Zealand and have a strong record of advocacy and getting things done.

My priorities
  1. Deliver more housing. Everyone needs a home, and this is how we create better communities.
  2. Reduce the cost of living and increasing incomes.
  3. Invest in our communities. This will reduce poverty and grow our economy.
