Tukituki electorate

Tukituki is currently held by Labour's Anna Lorck, who won comfortably with a margin of 1,590. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Tukituki – 48% to National's 30%. Tukituki is named after a popular trout fishing river. The electorate has existed since 1996. It was first held by Labour's Rick Barker for three terms, until it was won by National's Craig Foss in 2005. Foss retired at the 2017 election and the seat was won by National's Lawrence Yu before Labour won the seat back in 2020.

Why I'm standing

I believe that it is possible for the institution of parliament to enact legislation that would enable Kiwis to have their needs met, acknowledging that we have no control over what other countries do. I affirm that parliament ought to be making laws that ensure this country is living within its means: which means acknowledging ecological limits – the boundaries of the planet Earth system; as well as economical limits.

About me

I am not intending to be elected.

My priorities
  1. Make the taxation system significantly more progressive. The rich cause the most ecological harm.
  2. Consider rationing energy, such as tradeable energy quotas: an egalitarian means of distribution.
  3. Institute a transport system which does not rely on private motor vehicles: an ecological nightmare.
