Why I'm standing
In the last 40 years I've personally experienced the effects of high inflation coupled with low income, unemployment in small town NZ through redundancy, a credit crunch and the housing crash. I joined NZ First in the 90s because even then we could see our country slipping out of reach from ordinary New Zealanders and we desperately need the moderating influence of a centrist party in parliament to tackle these issues.
About me
I believe that the pursuit of peace and prosperity, for all people and all nations, is the greatest ambition for which mankind could strive. I have resilience, borne of working class values, with empathy for marginalised people, and a fortitude to persevere in the face of adversity. New Zealand, and indeed the world are facing difficult times ahead, and we need such ideals to represent this electorate, this region, and our nation.
My priorities
- Reject separatism; one nation, one flag, one people. Protect the right to live in peace and prosperity.
- Tackle the cost of living crisis. Taking on those foreign-owned banks and supermarkets.
- Create opportunity for all. Level up our education, health, employment and infrastructure.
