Why I'm standing

Together with the AJP, I'm envisioning a brighter future where animals are respected, protected, and their rights are upheld, making Aotearoa a more compassionate place. I'd be honoured to have your vote and support on this exciting journey. Together, let's make a meaningful difference!

About me

Kia ora, I'm Danette, a proud member of the New Brighton community for over a decade, and you'll often spot me out and about, walking my dogs along the riverbank or the beach. I'm privileged to serve as the chair of two amazing places locally and in the wider community, and I'm excited to be a candidate for the Animal Justice Party, where I can be a voice for those who need it the most.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for the independent role of Commissioner for Animals to be appointed.
  2. Ban the boom! Fireworks can cause extreme distress and fear for animals.
  3. End all live export! Live export is detrimental to the well-being of animals.
